How Blue Workforce contribute to the Global Goals
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
Following the SDGs Blue Workforce is ready to take on our part of the tasks. We all have a responsibility to take care of our surroundings and being part of the food industry and the industry 4.0 revolution makes this endeavor an important and relevant journey. Let’s see how Blue Workforce is making a difference in the world working towards the Global Goals.
End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
Target 2.3: By 2030, double the agricultural productivity and incomes of small-scale food producers, in particular women, indigenous peoples, family farmers, pastoralists and fishers, including through secure and equal access to land, other productive resources and inputs, knowledge, financial services, markets and opportunities for value addition and non-farm employment.
Target 2.4: By 2030, ensure sustainable food production systems and implement resilient agricultural practices that increase productivity and production, that help maintain ecosystems, that strengthen capacity for adaptation to climate change, extreme weather, drought, flooding and other disasters and that progressively improve land and soil quality.
Blue Workforce has created a platform for sustainable food industry robots that aims at the bottom 90% instead of the 10% by focusing on Affordability, Accessibility and Applicability for small and medium-sized productions. Blue Workforce offers a pick and place robot system both hardware and software included at a quarter of the price compared to other systems. An E-Learning platform and a very user-friendly operator interface developed by Blue Workforce makes it so easy to operate that no expert is needed. Furthermore, the Robot System allows you to handle several products on the same production line which is a great advantage for small companies with multiple products.
Decent work and economic growth
Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
Target 8.3: Promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to financial services
A large number of people still express their reservations by using robots instead of humans in the industry. But Blue Workforce is working hard and with great enthusiasm to remove all repetitive and dangerous jobs and replace humans with robots and support more education and thereby better jobs to all people.
All RAGNAR Robot Systems are designed and produced in Denmark according to the Danish working environment legislation.
Target 8.4: Improve progressively, through 2030, global resource efficiency in consumption and production and endeavour to decouple economic growth from environmental degradation, in accordance with the 10-year framework of programmes on sustainable consumption and production, with developed countries taking the lead
The RAGNAR Robot System is designed to be able to produce with as low energy consumption as possible. The actual robot’s consumption depends on the voltage but can be as low as 3-Watt ppm.
Blue Workforce’s use of grippers has also been improved as we turned away from the commonly known vacuum system and today we use compressed air instead causing a 20-fold less air consumption at 60 ppm.
Blue Workforce will constantly be working on new and better ways to preserve the environment.
Industry, innovation and infrastructure
Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
Target 9.2: Promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and, by 2030, significantly raise industry’s share of employment and gross domestic product, in line with national circumstances, and double its share in least developed countries
Through ground breaking innovation Blue Workforce constantly seeks developing a more environmentally and sustainable production setup like lower consumption in production and better opportunity for recycling of equipment for our customers.
Reduce inequality within and among countries
Target 10.2: By 2030, empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status
Blue Workforce is proud of being a multicultural company which as a team works with common goals and visions. We take every opportunity to draw attention to the valuable diversity in our company and we strongly believe that this will strengthen our innovation power and competitiveness.
Sustainable cities and communities
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
Target 11.6: By 2030, reduce the adverse per capita environmental impact of cities, including by paying special attention to air quality and municipal and other waste management.
It is necessary to pursue better solutions to the world’s waste problems. As the profitability of waste management is too low for already existing solutions, we need to find alternative solutions for handling this task. Over the past few years, Blue Workforce has developed its inexpensive handling robot, which will be a real solution model. We work diligently to find partners for this urgent problem and provide new innovative solutions to these challenges.
Responsible consumption and production
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Target 12.3: By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest
A big advantage of having robots in a production area is that Robots can discover human error and thus prevents to some extent waste of food. Blue Workforce RAGNAR Robot System is designed based on the desire to provide an automation system to handling multiple products and varying quantities on the same line.
Target 12.4: By 2020, achieve the environmentally sound management of chemicals and all wastes throughout their life cycle, in accordance with agreed international frameworks, and significantly reduce their release to air, water and soil in order to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment.
Blue Workforce seeks every opportunity to limit the environmental loss when using our system by develop better methods for air consumption of handling food and by recycling of our grippers.
